Lustyacht. Die Schiffe der Barockzeit waren breit und schwer gebaut bei nur geringem Tiefgang. Den sog Gallion, den konsolartigen vorderen Ausbau, schmuckte meist eine geschnitzte Gallionsfigur oder ein reich verziertes Wappen. Im Gegensatz zu den Kriegs- und Handelsschiffen ist die Lustyacht nur ein mit einem Verdeck versehenes einmastiges Schiff, das besonders bei hofischen Festen diente. Translation: Pleasure Yacht. The ships of the Baroque period were wide and heavily built with only a shallow draft. The so-called gallion, the console-like front extension, was usually adorned with a carved figurehead or a richly decorated coat of arms. In contrast to warships and merchant ships, the pleasure yacht is a single-masted ship with a deck, which was used especially for court festivals.
