- PHOTO TAKEN 26JUN01 - With face of the Crazy Horse Monument just visible a workman walks under what will one day be the pointing arm of the Lakota warrior carved into a mountain of the Black Hills of South Dakota. When finished the monument will be world's largest sculpture standing 563 feet (173-meters) tall and 641 (197-meters) feet long. A life long venture of self-taught sculpture Korczak Ziolkowski who was commissioned by Sioux chiefs in 1948 to show the white man that the red man has heroes too.
