Gondophares receives a Letter from St Thomas. There are many stories connecting the Apostle St Thomas with India, on all of which doubt has been cast, but the evidence on the whole is in favour of that which tells of his writing to the Indo-Parthian King Gondophares (Guduphara), who ruled at Gandhara (Peshawar) between 25 and 45 AD, a letter from Syria (Persia) to announce his intention of visiting India.
