Image description

Painted by an unidentified artist probably working in Bombay. Parsi Master-Shipbuilder Nourojee Jamsetjee (1774-1860) and Parsi Master-Shipbuilder Jamsetjee Bomanjee (1756-1821). Nourojee became Master-Builder after the death of his father. His first large ship was the 'Asia', launched in 1824, which became the flag-ship of Admiral Codrington at the Battle of Navarino in 1867.
