Detectives investigating the mystery believe an attempt was made to murder Lulham by placing the poison in a glass of beer. They are hindered however, by the apparent absence of a motive. Lulham, young, happily married and a crowd pleasing star, has told the police that as far as he knows he has no enemies. He is now progressing satisfactorily and is expected to leave hospital shortly.
