Second Lieutenant Jimmy Sale, Egypt, 1942 circa. Photograph by Second Lieutenant (later Major) W H J Sale, 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), World War Two (1940-1943), North Africa, 1942 circa. Sale was a junior officer in the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) and went on to win a Military Cross during the campaign in the Western Desert. A keen amateur photographer, he took a series of images that give us a fine insight into the North African campaign from the perspective of a British tank commander. From an album containing 182 group photographs compiled by MajorW H J Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters).
