A full-length portrait of the husband of Catherine, daughter of Robert Wheatley Bracknell, Berkshire, with a draped backdrop on the left and a horse with its black groom on the right, dressed in blue and scarlet holding his charger. He is standing, facing wearing long buff-coloured jerkin with blue and gold embroidered cuffs, white and orange silk fringed sash, jabot, his hat held in left hand; in the background a troop of calvary can be discerned. His legs are foreshortened so taht the portrait could be viewed from below. He succeeded Richard Lucy in 1677 and made extensive alterations to Charlecote.
