From pirate ships to nostalgic images, discover IT Support Carlos Borrageiro's favourites from the archive
What is your role at Bridgeman?I provide IT support for Bridgeman Images. As a part of the IT team some of my responsibilities involve looking after servers and services in our different offices along with looking after the IT requirements of Bridgeman staff on and off site. This tends to involve a lot of troubleshooting, maintenance and requires me to liaise with developers and staff alike.

Portuguese Caravel I’m not sure if it’s the fisherman or pirate in me, but this image has such an attraction to me. There is just so much in this image that I feel I can relate to; the need to explore, discover and the impact the small things have in the future. |

Ships Off Flamborough Head Same theme, although this is my favourite image. Apart from the affinity I have for boats and dark cloudy mornings, this reminds me of the painting my brother bought with his first wages - for my mother to put on a large empty white wall that was in our TV room. This now resides in his house in Madeira. I was a lot less thoughtful and purchased a clothes basket. A small family tradition. |

Cats and Dogs I usually start a test on our website with “Cats and dogs”, over a period of 2 years this image has come to be one I’m fond of seeing. I may not know much about the image, but it brings a funny chuckle every time. It’s an image that is both eye-catching and a bit of a reminder of when my niece used to come over and play on the weekends. All the tricks and games we used to play. And all the sandwiches I would get her to make for me then aged 5, telling her that she was good at it, and not that I was too lazy to make one myself. A story that she still remembers to this day. |

The Best Comedy Western Not only is this a still from one of my favourite movies of all time (Trinity is Still My Name), but arguably one of the best scenes in a comedy western. As a ritual, most weekends as a child were spent watching comedy with family and my dad falling asleep on the chair half way through. |

Just Lily This reminds me of my mother and her garden. |

Aerobatics and Ambitions Living on a farm meant we had different sources of entertainment, one of which was a nearby airfield where small airplanes and helicopters would often do tricks for shows every weekend. My brother has since gone on to obtain his pilots license, his dream. Egging me on to go after mine, he purchased my first computer for me at age 14. I dismantled it a couple of months later out of curiosity. |
