Image description

Englishman Edward Gordon Spencer, Gamesmaster and English teacher at the Lyceum Alpinum in Zuoz, Switzerland, reads in a booklet taken in July 1948. Spencer, a.k.a. “Bones”, was the Gamesmaster of the Institute from 1923-1963 and introduced the games system with traditional sports such as cricket, Eton Fives, country and ice hockey. The Lyceum was founded in 1904 and was at the beginning an institute exclusively for boys, where the practice of team sports is a concern.
