Creator: Uden, Ernest Boye (1911-86) The interior of St Mary-le-Bow church, badly damaged and roofless as a result of bombing, with debris on the floor. St Paul's Cathedral is visible in the background through the main window, London, 1941. Ernest Boye Uden was a British official war artist trained at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, and served in the Auxiliary Fire Service in the Second World War. After the war, he produced commercial art for British Gas, Daimler, Dunlop, ICI and the Radio Times.
