Rognan at the bottom of the Saltdalsfjord 19531010. Rognan is known throughout Northern Norway as the place where fishing skates are built and repaired. The small shipbuilding has ancient traditions, hundreds of years ago people stood and built boats in small sheds down in the shoreline. Most farmers have a boat for themselves on the barn in the wood shed or in a shed. The boats are built in dark autumn and winter days when the work on the farm does not steal as many hours of the day. Along the entire beach in Rognan are skating under construction or for repair.
