Three nuns casting their votes for the deadline solution, taken on 24 September 1977. An urn bus drove to the vicinity of the Notkersegg monastery near St. Gallen on the voting weekend to give the numerous nuns of the monastery the opportunity to cast their votes. The federal popular initiative “for a deadline solution for abortion” was rejected by the Swiss electorate on September 25 with 51.7% votes against.
