Switzerland Circus Rolf Knee (b/w photo)

On Monday morning, August 18, 1997 Rolf Knee senior from the circus knee dynasty died at the age of 76. In 1941 Rolf and his brother Fredy Knee took over the circus from their parents. Fredy Knee headed the artistic and technical department, Rolf Knee the commercial and administrative department. In 1962 they founded the children's zoo in Rapperswil SG. In 1986 the management of the National Circus passed on to the sixth generation. Fredy and Rolf Knee resigned from the Board of Directors at the end of 1992. Despite the unexpected death, the current tour will continue.
