Ruth Rusterholz from Uster wins the Special Handy Hero Award in Zurich Kloten on December 2, 1999. Of the 100 or so serious emergencies in Switzerland every day, more and more rescue operations are possible or accelerated by mobile phones. The Handy Hero Award is supported by more than a dozen Swiss rescue organizations. Ruth Rusterholz was able to save a small Chihuahua, which was attacked by a shepherd dog, in the forest thanks to her mobile phone. Shortly after the incident, the alarmed veterinary clinic is able to operate on the owner's little darling. He survived only thanks to the fast and precise alerting of the mobile phone owner.
