Hamar 1981-04: The Labor Party's national meeting 1981. Large upheavals in the party's board during the National Assembly April 1981. Prime Minister Nordli had already in January announced his departure as prime minister. Gro Harlem Brundtland took over the Prime Minister post. These changes also led to changes in party leadership. At the opening of the national meeting, Reiulf Steen made it clear that he was no longer a candidate for the chair. At the end of the national meeting, it was clear that the new party leadership consisted of Gro Harlem Brundtland (chairman) and Einar Førde (deputy chairman). Picture: Party Secretary Ivar Leveraas (with his back to) studies comments on Aps national meeting in the newspaper during the first day of the national meeting, April 2, 1981. One of the headings is "Steen withdraws voluntarily?". In the background Reiulf Steen (sitting), Martin Kolberg and Reidar T. Larsen. To h. For Leveraa's Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland.
