Indian soldiers in trench, 1915. Photograph, World War One, Gallipoli (1915). Around 15,000 Indians served in the Dardanelles at various times during the campaign. Most of these men served with 29th Indian Brigade, the Indian Mountain Artillery Brigade and the Indian Mule Corps. From an album of 99 photographs compiled by Lt (later Lt Gen Sir) Reginald Arthur Savory, 14th Sikh Regiment.
