Young Men of the Bahamas’. This recruiting poster was produced in the West Indies by The Gleaner Company Limited of Kingston, Jamaica. Thousands of men and women from across the British Empire volunteered to fight Britain's enemies during World War One (1914-1918). The Caribbean was no different and men from across the region served in the Army and the Royal Navy.
