Image description: Canvas kit-bag issued in 1943 and used by N R Smith, Auxiliary Territorial Service. Manufactured by C Broom Limited, London, 1940 circa. The kit-bag was originally khaki in colour and appears to have been stained dark blue for use by the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). The ATS received kit-bags that had previously been allocated to the Army. The original buff colour was overlaid in blue grey.
