Image description

Woollen jacket and plus fours of 'Shepherd check' tweed made for the Duke of Windsor in 1934 The jacket (probably by Scholte, London) and the plus fours (by Forster & Son, London) are worn with a Hawes & Curtis shirt of brushed cotton (1937) and a Poirier woollen tie of grey and cream The Duke was extremely particular about how he wanted his clothes to be made. All were bespoke. He worked closely with his tailors to get all of the details just the way he wanted them
