Jul 07, 1953 - Henryk Zaborski escaped from Siberia.: One of the few men who succeeded in escaping from behind the iron curtain and Soviet Russia (Siberia) is 26 - year old Polish civilian Henryk Zaborski who arrived in Munich where he was interviewed by the staff - members of radio free Europe. In 1948, Zaborski was captured by the Soviets when he tried to escape from Soviet occupied Poland into the Western part of his country where a pre-elected puppet - Government (Polish communist) govern the country. The Soviets displaced him to Siberia and put him in a concentration - camp near the Tassiey - river (Central Siberia) where he had to clear the Siberian forests, together with many camp and 6,500 kilometers from this camp of horror to the Persian frontier mark his history of sufferings. About on year, he had to remain in a Persian prison unless the Persian authorities allowed him to supply him with a pass. This one, whose name is unfortunately not known, supplied him with the monetary means to travel to West Europe
