Image description

Sucked out of the airplane in flight. A young American tourist, Jack Rodney Nash from Memphis, who was on board an Air France Super-Constellation, due to the sudden rupture of a porthole, was sucked by the air current, formed between the inside and outside of the cabin, and plunged into a vacuum. The four-engine that, starting from Baghdad, headed for Istanbul, was at that moment flying over the border between Iraq and Turkey, at a height of 7000 meters. Nash's body was found by a patrol of Iraqi police officers about 40 km from Kirkuk. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 5 May 1957.
