The cat in the bell tower. In Valperga Canavese (Turin) a white cat reached a cornice of the bell tower and from a height of 35 meters, unable to descend, was desperately meowing. On the square below, a crowd stopped to watch; meanwhile the parish priest, Don Vincenzo Rubatto, who is a skilled mountaineer, tied to a rope and held by three young people, descended from a window to save his cat who, very scared, does not let himself be caught. The attempt had to be abandoned. The next day the cat alone, who knows how, managed to touch the ground. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 27 May 1956.
