Oil painting on panel (oval), Neptune rising from the Sea in his Chariot, holding aloft the Royal Coat-of-arms, with Attendants holding Portraits of George III (1738-1820) and Queen Charlotte (1744-1818), British School, circa 1800. Neptune, with white hair and beard, seated in his Chariot drawn by sea-horses (hippocamus), riding on the sea to the right, he wears a loincloth and a red cloak which is billowing out behind him, his trident is held by a small putto standing in front of him on the chariot, Neptune holds aloft in his left hand a disk with the royal coat-of-arms (pre - 1802), he is attended by two water nymphs one on each side of his chariot, the one nearest is holding a portrait head of George III and the nymph on the far side of the chariot is holding up a portrait head of Queen Charlotte. Above the group is a winged cupid flying among the clouds in a blue sky. Anglesey Abbey, Cambridgeshire (Accredited Museum)
