This painting is a copy, probably also from an engraving, of the painting in the Pallavicini Collection in the Palazzo Pallavicini-Rospigliosi in Rome, which is a studio variant of Pietro da Cortona's lost painting of 1653, formerly in the Barberini Collection, of which there is a drawing and a Bartolzzi print in the V&A.
