Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656/9 – London 1743). Oil painting on canvas, George Booth, 2nd Earl of Warrington (1675-1758) by Michael Dahl (1656-1743). A three-quarter-length portrait, in a wig and Peer's robes, a coronet on the table to the left. This is the original of one of Dahl's two heads-and-shoulder portraits of this sitter at Dunham Massey (DUN/P/13). If, as would appear, it was painted to show him not merely in peer's, but in coronation, robes, it must date from 1727, albeit using the same face as the three-quarter-length with his daughter at Dunham Massey (DUN/P/72) and the derived head-and-shoulders (DUN/P/79).
