Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Woman, wrongly known as 'The Widow', but probably Anne Conyngham, Mrs David Butle or Elizabeth Conyngham, Lady Staples (d.1681), British (English) School, 1666-1669. A three-quarter length portrait of a young woman, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, holding a watch in her right hand. She wears mourning, consisting of a black dress over a white chemise, cape white linen collar, and clutching a blue cloak about her. She has light brown hair just seen under a black bonnet tied under the chin. A skull on the table on the left. Dark background. Springhill, County Londonderry (Accredited Museum)
