She was a former Television Topper, joining the show when they were known as the Musical Hall Maids. For Gillian it was the traditional story book ending of marrying the boss. She wrote asking for an audition when she read that TV wanted dancers for the Music Hall Maids and so joined the team working for Richard Afton. Later they were renamed The Toppers.
