Image description

We dance in St. Peter's Square. With a great folkloric gathering, the congress-pilgrimage of the Catholic Workers' Youth (JOC) ended in Rome. In St. Peter's Square, in the presence of an immense crowd, a stage action exalting the work took place; then, while costumed couples danced on a platform, to the sound of accordions, the parade began groups of workers, even in costume. One of these, composed of Flemings, is paraded walking on very high stilts. At the end of the event, Pius XII spoke to the Jocists representing more than 80 countries. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 8 September 1957.
