The Good Companions (Colour Litho)

The good companions. In Matassone, a small village in Vallarsa (Trento), Giorgio Lorenzi, an 11-year-old boy, is paralyzed in the legs due to a fall. His greatest concern was that he had to leave school, but his classmates decided to take him to school every morning on a stretcher and then bring him home with the same vehicle after class. They have arranged shifts and the teacher always accompanies them; always the population of the country also greets them with affectionate and supportive friendliness. Now the Trento Study Commissioner has arranged for Lorenzi to undergo a prompt surgery to give him back the use of his legs. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 28 November 1954.
