Image description: Creator: Lehmann, Olga (1912-2001) A high vaulted tunnel with a cart in the foreground, shelters people lit by candles, London, 1940. Olga Lehmann was commissioned by the War Artists Advisory Committee as a British official war artist. She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and worked in the fields of mural painting and portraiture. During the Second World War she designed murals for restaurants, hotels and the Ministry of Aircraft Production, as well as illustrations for the Radio Times. After the war, she worked as a set designer for Hollywood film productions.
