Bayonet for an Italian Mannlicher Carcano model 38 rifle, 1943 (c). This bayonet was taken from an Italian prisoner by Trooper Cyril Douglas Goslin of ‘A’ Squadron, 40th (The Kings) Battalion The Royal Tank Regiment. Goslin fought at the Second Battle of El Alamein in 1942 before going on to serve in Italy (1943-1945). He replaced the grips of the bayonet with a picture of his girlfriend.
