Image description: Bayonet for an Italian Mannlicher Carcano model 38 rifle, 1943 (c). This bayonet was taken from an Italian prisoner by Trooper Cyril Douglas Goslin of A Squadron, 40th (The Kings) Battalion The Royal Tank Regiment. Goslin fought at the Second Battle of El Alamein in 1942 before going on to serve in Italy (1943-1945). He replaced the grips of the bayonet with a picture of his girlfriend.
