Image description

Jean-Bédel Bokassa (1921-1996) also known as Bokassa I of Central Africa and Salah Eddine Ahmed Bokassa, a military officer, was the head of state of the Central African Republic. Georges Jean Raymond Pompidou (1911-74) was Prime Minister of France from 1962 to 1968, and later President of the French Republic from 1969 until his death. Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle (1890-1970) was a French general and statesman who led the Free French Forces during World War II. He later founded the French Fifth Republic in 1958 and served as its first president from 1959 to 1969. Félix Houphouët-Boigny (1905-93), affectionately called Papa Houphouët or Le Vieux (The Old One), was the first President of Côte d'Ivoire. Moktar Ould Daddah (1924-2003) was the President of Mauritania from 1960, when his country gained its independence from France, to 1978, when he was deposed in a military coup d'etat.
