John Tookey lives in North Essex. He trained at the Sir John Cass School of Art, London before taking up a career in advertising, but left in 1986 to become a full-time painter.
He has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Watercolourists; The Royal Institute of Oil Painters; The West of England Academy and the Pastel Society, of which he is a member. John was winner of the Brandler Prize in 1994 (West of England Academy). His work has been acquired by corporate and private collections in Great Britain, Europe and the USA.
