statue of King Khasekhemwy- King Khasekhemwy, the last king of the 2nd Dynasty. This beautiful statue marks the beginning of art carved from hard stone; the king is shown seated on his throne, wearing the White Crown of Upper Egypt and a tight robe with long sleeves associated with the heb-sed ritual of royal renewal. His right arm is placed on his right leg, while his left hand reaches across to hold his right arm.
