Three-quarter-length portrait, half turned to her right. Right hand rests pink flowers on table with jewelled crown. Wearing a white lace and silver-embroidered dress with cutwork Van Dyck lace shawl collar, trimmed with red-pink bows, lace ruffle cuffs and red ribbons. Red-pink bow in hair. Pearl necklace and earrings. Black bracelet on right wrist with ring, and a red and black jewelled bracelet on left wrist with ring on left little finger. Standing in front of a blue curtain. Inscribed in orange '16' at l.l., in orange 'No.16' l.r., and in white '16' crossed out. Label stuck on bottom right of frame '161'. Gilt label on frame 'Henrietta Maria, Van Dyke'. .
