Bridgeman Images are proud to become the Licensing representative for the photography work of the artist, documentary-style photographer Corinne Day (1962-2010).
Day revolutionized 90’s fashion photography, inspiring generations of photographers and artists for years to come.
Challenging the high glam era of the 80s, Day sought to introduce reality into the fantasy world of fashion. In the 90s Day led a new movement in fashion that came to be known as grunge.
Self-taught, Day brought a more documentary look to fashion imagery, in which she often included autobiographical elements.
Corinne Day began her career in fashion photography working for the FACE magazine in 1990. Days famous first photographs of a young unknown aspiring model Kate Moss on the cover of the FACE and editorial photographs within were noticed internationally transforming Moss into a Supermodel. Day also worked for independent magazines i-D, Ray-Gun, Dutch, and Mixte counter-culture magazines, which expressed her artistic values.
Day eventually stepped away from fashion photography to work on her own Art photography book project “Diary”. Her bold and brave work earned her two major gallery exhibitions in London in the 2000s and more prominence in the Art photography world.
