EXHIBITION ON SCREEN and Seventh Art Productions presents a film that takes you on a magical journey from the exhibition walls of the Royal Academy of Arts, London to the wonder and beauty of famous artists' gardens across Europe.

Leading with Claude Monet, an avid horticulturist and perhaps the most important painter of gardens in art history, Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse showcases how great artists such as Pisarro, Matisse, Van Gogh and Sargent all viewed the garden as a powerful subject for their works and used it to explore motifs, decorative designs, abstract colours and utopian ideas.

With the aid of dedicated curators, artists and garden enthusiasts, this incredible group of Impressionists, Post-Impressionists and avant-garde artists of the early 20th century will unveil the rise of the modern garden in popular culture and its enduring fascination amongst today's public.
