Hazel is an illustrator and artist based in London. Her work is influenced by the natural world, fabric patterns, folk-art, tribal art, symbolism, surrealism, and a wide range of authors and current events. Since completing her MA in Fine Art in 2007 Hazel has always continued to draw. After studying for a PhD in Politics, Hazel decided to return to her career as an artist full time. Books and history have always been important to Hazel and she often finds herself referring to them for artistic inspiration. Her drawings journey from the worlds of romantic poets and dreams to historical references and a surreal representation of elements found in nature. Hazel’s images are hand drawn, often combining a range of mediums including pen & ink, pencil, oil paint and collage.
