The Karl-Liebknechthaus on 1 May, the beginning of the so-called "Blutmai" ("Bloody May"), which lasted from 1 to 3 May, 1929. The house served as the party headquarters of the KPD and the editorial office of the Red Flag. Since 1928, open-air political meetings were forbidden, but the KPD called for strikes and demonstrations. In the wake of the May riots, a total of 20 people were killed and 200 injured by the police. 01.05.1929
