The Free Library of Philadelphia offers one of the country's most extensive collections - more than 6 million items, ranging from books and magazines to art, music, film, and other media.

The Library specializes in the richness and depth of its special collections, such as the Year of Dickens, a 2012 showcase in celebration of the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens. Thanks to the generosity of collectors William Elkins and D. Jacques Benoliel, the Free Library possesses a unique collection of Dickens manuscripts, original illustrations, autographed letters, and other treasures, now in the Bridgeman archive.

Look for this collection in January, when Bridgeman will officially announce representation of the Free Library and the availability of their images on our website!
