Rosa Louise McCauley Parks (1913-2005) at a rally near the Washington Monument, Washington D.C. on June 19th 1968, part of the Poor People's Campaign American activist in the civil rights movement best known for her pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott. Called "the first lady of civil rights" and "the mother of the freedom movement".
