- Whole artwork view. The Jewish widow Judith beheads Assyrian leader Holofernes with a dagger. The blood stains the sheet where Holofernes rests his head. The pieces of clothing are painted with the drapery technique. A semicircular cymatium crowns the blackboard. At the sides of the red frame, whose top has a broken tympanum, are volutae.
