From a series of American documentary films about the Battle of Britain, titled Why We Fight, directed by Frank Capra. Contains some re-enactments.Scenes depicting the British people working to the point of exhaustion in factories and providing civilian defense duties. Citizens greet Winston Churchill. People gather around radios to hear Churchill's message to the people ending in 'we shall never surrender'. Air raid sirens are sounded, flights of German Luftwaffe planes attack bomb supply ships in English Channel, RAF pilots scramble to planes, Spitfire planes take-off. Excellent scenes of aerial combat between British and German Luftwaffe planes. RAF pilot shoots down German plane, hand on trigger, machine guns firing, German plane hit, dives into water. Shows wreckage of German planes shot down over England. The German bombing of England continues. British RAF pilot is rescued from the English Channel.
