Description
Thomas Hardy memorial window: stained glass window by Dr Douglas A Strachan (1875-1950), installed 1930, soon after the death of the great English and Dorset novelist. In Saint Michael's, Stinsford, outside Dorchester, Dorset. Thomas Hardy (1840-1928) was baptised here, lived nearby and worshiped here when young. His heart is buried in the graveyard, along with his 2 wives and many of his family. The window features the colours of Egdon Hedagth, the storm, tmepst and Still Small Voice of Elijah in 1 Kings Chapter19.
