Princess Marta Bibescu (nee Lahovari) (1886-1973); writer, poet and woman of letters; of Romanian origin she wrote mostly in French and after 1945 lived in Paris; friend of many famous writers and politicians, including Paul Claudel, Jean Cocteau, Ramsay Macdonald, Prime Minister of Great Britain and President Charles de Gaulle, to whom she represented the personification of Europe; in 1960 she published 'La Nymphe Europe';
