Isle of Man Steam Packet company's vessel 'Mona's Isle' leaving Douglas, around 1835. 'Mona's Isle' was the first paddle steamer purchased by the fledgling Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. She was built in 1830 by John Wood of Glasgow, and her engines were built by Robert Napier of the same city. She was small but powerful, and could make the crossing to Liverpool in eight hours.
