PARIS SIGHTSEEING ON A BATEAUX MOUCHE, SEPTEMBER 1978

The film opens with the Eiffel Tower and a sign informing us that on the left are the "Bateaux Mouches" boats. People are getting ready to board and the tour begins. We see a part of the Musée d'Orsay and then the building of the Court of Cassation which is next to the Notre Dame de Paris. We continue with shots of the Palais de la Cité. We see the Fontaine du Palmier in Place du Châtelet with the statue of Victory and a little further back the Saint-Jacques Tower. The boat crosses the Pont Alexandre III bridge. Afterwards, we see two of the four gilded bronze statues of Fame that restrain Pegasus and behind them the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées. The lens focuses on the elaborate work Nymphs of the Seine created by Georges Récipon. The tour continues to the Eiffel Tower and a replica of the statue of liberty on the island L’île aux Cygnes.
