Description
Clip 3 from the 1968 film 'Navy in Focus' (Edition 7) by the Department of Defence (Royal Australian Navy Public Relations), documenting the work of the Australian naval forces during the Vietnam War. In this clip is a flashback to HMAS Melbourne as she farewells the Gannet and Sea Venom aircraft. Voice over of the history of the Fleet Air Arm while showing Sea Venom formation flying aerials. Melbourne's commander A M Synnot takes the place of the Flight Officer to signal off the Gannets and Sea Venoms for take off. Flypast by Gannets and Sea Venoms.
