Bridgeman Images is pleased to welcome new content from three major German institutions into the archive: the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin and Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, both now available exclusively through Bridgeman, alongside the LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur in Münster. Previously represented by bpk, all three collections are now available through Bridgeman, giving creatives and researchers continued access to these important holdings.

Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin
Founded in 1987, the Deutsches Historisches Museum (German Historical Museum) in Berlin is Germany's national museum of history and one of the country's foremost cultural institutions. Its collections and exhibitions trace German history within its wider European and international context, covering politics, society, culture, science and everyday life from the Middle Ages to the present day. Housed in the historic Baroque Zeughaus on Unter den Linden and extended by a landmark exhibition building designed by I. M. Pei, the DHM holds a rich and wide-ranging collection of objects, artworks, documents and photographs offering unique insight into Germany's historical and cultural heritage. Rather than being defined by a single canon of painters, the museum's holdings are best known for their historically iconic material: imperial and political portraiture, wartime and propaganda posters, and press photography documenting pivotal moments in German history, from the Weimar Republic to the fall of the Berlin Wall. This archive is exclusive to Bridgeman Images. No additional permissions are required for licensing, and the collection is cleared for print-on-demand (POD) use.

Kunstmuseum Stuttgart
The Kunstmuseum Stuttgart is a leading museum of modern and contemporary art, located on Schlossplatz at the edge of the Königstraße on the site of the historic Kronprinzenpalais. Opened in 2005 as successor to the city's former Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart, it presents highlights from Stuttgart's municipal collection spanning the 19th century to contemporary practice, alongside a regularly changing programme of thematic and monographic exhibitions. The museum's curatorial work was recognised in 2022, when the German section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) named it "Museum of the Year 2021." Kunstmuseum Stuttgart is internationally recognised for holding one of the world's largest collections of works by Otto Dix, alongside major holdings by Willi Baumeister. This archive is also exclusive to Bridgeman Images. No additional permissions are required for licensing, and the collection is cleared for print-on-demand (POD) use.

LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur, Münster
Based on the Domplatz in Münster since 1908, the LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur is one of the leading art and cultural-history museums in North Rhine-Westphalia, run by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe. Its holdings trace roughly a thousand years of art and cultural history, from Romanesque and Gothic sacred art and sculpture. The museum reopened in an expanded, redeveloped building in 2014. Its best-known holdings include the medieval altarpieces of Conrad von Soest, works by Lucas Cranach the Elder, and paintings by August Macke, one of the leading figures of the Rhineland Expressionist and Blaue Reiter movements. Permission from the museum is required for any use outside editorial, and the collection is cleared for print-on-demand (POD) use.
