Charles Pierre de Frédy, Baron de Coubertin (1 January 1863 – 2 September 1937, also known as Pierre de Coubertin and Baron de Coubertin) was a French educator and historian, best known as the modernizer of the Olympic Games as soon as 1894. He founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) of which he was president in 1896-1925.
